A huge infrastructure moment for Arkansas This Week!

The groundbreaking for the expansion of I-49 from Alma to Barling.  A project that will include a new bridge over the Arkansas River.  This multiyear effort will be another step in positioning Arkansas at the very heart of the American supply chain.   Fort Smith is a unique meeting place for the river, railroad lines, the interstates, and two airports in close proximity.  Billions of dollars in freight will move through the region in years to come and that will mean the creation of thousands of jobs.

Congratulations to our friends at ARDOT as well as all the state, local, and federal leaders who have worked tirelessly to make this happen. In terms of driver safety, the Arkansas economy, and the national supply chain…this matters on so many levels.
