ARDOT Gears Up for Winter Weather

With the first cold weather arriving across Arkansas this week, ARDOT teams are out preparing for snow and sleet on the roads. The process is much more involved than it used to be. Communication strategies and rehearsals are part of the effort to make it easier and safer for you to get around during a winter storm. Today, the department has 84,000 tons of salt stored at 121 locations around the state, ready to help keep roads clear on dark, cold, wet nights. Be careful driving in winter weather, and know that the men and women of ARDOT are working on sunny days to get ready for winter storm days later.
